Alexander Quinn is the Senior Director of Research for Northern California at JLL. He has over 20 years of economic analysis experience and specializes in real estate development, economic forecasting, and urban regeneration. Quinn leads commercial real estate research efforts for JLL’s Northern California region, providing insights on prevailing commercial real estate demand, regional economic dynamics, and shifting business behavior that shapes our built environment.

Quinn has advised both developers and tenants on site selection, building recommendations, and strike price for office, lab, research and development, and multifamily projects in Northern California. Quinn also develops the North America tech report which identifies the top 30 markets for tech companies in the US and Canada.

Quinn has served as expert testimony to the US Congress to first explain the economic contribution of water infrastructure to the national economy and in a second testimony to explain the potential national loss in GDP should our national water system fail. 

Quinn has worked on multiple feasibility studies for clients in the Bay Area, including the Downtown Berkeley Feasibility Analysis for the Downtown Berkeley Area Plan. He has also worked on numerous international development projects, including in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. He has led infrastructure and economic policy analysis efforts, including an analysis of the economic impact of SB375 to the State of California and the Central Market Economic Strategy which won a national economic development award. 

Quinn is a professor at UC Berkeley where he also received his Masters degree in City and Regional Planning.

Andy’s passion is increasing society’s resilience to natural disasters. He has 26 years of experience as an earthquake and structural engineer and founded the Catastrophe Risk & Insurance practice at the global engineering consultancy Arup. Here, he worked with corporations and governments around the world to better manage their catastrophe risk, including risk reduction, emergency response, business continuity, and insurance. He has supported clients in numerous post-disasters situations from Japan to Chile to Haiti. He is coauthor of the book Peace of Mind in Earthquake Country and represents Safehub on the governing board of the Global Earthquake Model (GEM). Andy has a master’s degree in structural and earthquake engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

Ginny oversees venture investing and 1SV platform strategies. Prior to 1SV, Ginny led Ventures at Jamestown, a $12Bn real estate private equity firm. She has also worked on real estate technology initiatives at Apple, Fifth Wall Ventures, and Harvard University after starting her career in product design. Ginny received her MBA from Harvard Business School and studied Engineering at Dartmouth.

Isabelle Granahan-Field is an Investor at Camber Creek and supports the firm’s deal flow, diligence, transactions, and portfolio management. Isabelle previously worked at Clarion Partners and Altus Group. She is passionate about proptech and has done internships with PGIM and RXR in their respective proptech groups. Jeevan Kalanithi is Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of OpenSpace, the global leader in reality capture and AI-powered analytics for builders with projects of all shapes and sizes. Mikal is the Director of Proptech and Innovation at Nuveen. He focuses on proptech investments and innovation initiatives across Nuveen Real Estate.

Prior to joining Nuveen in 2022, Mikal was an investor at DBL Partners, a leading impact focused venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. Prior to joining DBL Partners, Mikal was a strategic advisor to Governor Ned Lamont of Connecticut where he worked on climate initiatives, COVID response and broadband policy. Additionally, Mikal has previous experience with Shell Oil Company.

Mikal graduated with a B.B.A. in Finance from Georgia Southern University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. His thought leadership on the intersection of real estate and climate has been featured by venture capital firm, Fifth Wall, and Connected Real Estate Magazine.

Mike Karim is Turntide’s Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Mike oversees the financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, investor relations, legal and IT operations for Turntide. Mike joined Turntide in 2021 and was instrumental in supporting its inorganic acquisition integrations and growth fundraising efforts. Prior to joining Turntide, Mike held a variety of finance and operational leadership roles within General Electric. Mike has over 25 years of experience, and attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Northwestern’s Kellogg school of management.

Nick Bloom is the William Eberle Professor of Economics at Stanford University. His research focuses on working from home, management practices and uncertainty. He previously worked at the UK Treasury and McKinsey & Company and the IFS. He has a BA from Cambridge, an MPhil from Oxford, and a PhD from University College London.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the recipient of the Guggenheim and Sloan Fellowships, the Frisch Medal and a National Science Foundation Career Award. He was elected to Bloomberg50 for his advice on working from home. 

On the personal side he is English, living with his Scottish wife and American kids on Stanford campus, in a multi-accented English household.
